This is not a new version. I did not like it the first time I saw it, but, as I watched it this time I liked it very much, except Mr. Knightly who I thought was neither kind nor handsome just self-righteous.

I have always liked this version, that is why I own the dvd, BUT this Mr. Knightly is aptly described by you.

I didn't like this version simply because of Mr. Knightly. I thought it made it so much more unbelievable i the end when he finally softened to tell her that he loved her. It sort of didn't fit for me. But kate beckinsale is awesome in this.
