Day 5 - North Trip - Day 2

September 12 (Wednesday)
We woke up and went to Fountains Abby a ruin of a successful Abby that Henry the Eighth had destroyed. It is a beautiful area with extensive grounds that we wonder and enjoyed. You would not believe how many pheasants there were, I think that was Finn's favorite part. It also had a great playground that Finn enjoyed at the end of our stay. From there we headed to York to spend a couple of hours. We went to Yorkminster, The Shambles (a shopping area that is a perfectly kept old Medieval road, ate at a delish pub, and walked the old Roman wall. from there we headed to our Youth Hostel for the night, Boggle Hole, it is right on the beach and a truly beautiful area. The boys slept through the night for the first time here so it holds a special place in my heart.
